A beautiful medieval castle surrounded by battlements, located on top of a hill in the center of the ancient region of Sabina, in the province of Rome, Lazio.

The first mention of the castle dates back to 1027, when from some documents it can be concluded that the castle was part of the ownership of the Abbey di Farfa. Standing in the dominant position, the castle for many centuries was associated with the fate of the Abbey. In the future, as it turned out, the castle was in possession of such well-known Roman surnames as Orsini, Kaetani, Spada, Vaini and Marini-Clarelli, and already these last owners, in 1816, abandoned their feudal rights to the territory of Sabina.

The origins of the castle are lost at the beginning of Roman times, not excluding the existence of the Acropolis on the hill as a whole, the oldest sanctuary dedicated to the deity Sabine.

The medieval castle is located on the top of a hill in the center of Sabina, on which stands the same city. This zone is characterized by magnificent nature, developed agriculture and, above all, clean and untouched environment, despite the fact that it is located just an hour's drive from Rome and its airport.

The castle consists of two buildings, an outer wall with a tower and a park. The property was structurally integrated several years ago with the reconstruction of the electrical system, but at the moment investments are needed that will enable to recreate the splendor and beauty that it deserves.

The total area of the complex of buildings is 1660 sq. m. located on the top in the upper part of the old town and completely surrounded by an outer wall.

The buildings, which together make up about 1500 sq. m. Only two: one main and the second official. The main building consists of 3 floors, of which 2 are located above the ground and occupy a total of 350 sq. m., inside we find spacious rooms with walls painted murals, large living rooms with vaulted and caisson wooden ceilings decorated with paintings and original ornaments. Floors made of ceramic tiles cotto. The second building is an office building, located on an area of about 125 sq. m. And separated from the main courtyard. Also located on 3 floors without a basement.

The northern part ends with a tower, which you can reach via the 2nd floor. In addition, on the first and second floors there are rooms where previously there were stables and various services. The roof is sloping and covered with tiles.
