PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:

  • Total area: 4 880 m2,
  • Living area: 3 070 m2,
  • During the process of recovering property confiscated after World War II, the family of Lazarini was returned to the estate "Smlednik", part of which is a Baroque castle.
  • The architect of the estate was Lovrenc Prager (Lovrenc Prager), who is the representative of the Viennese architectural school. He is considered one of the most important architects of his era. The Ljubljana Baroque, by definition of Nacia Shumiya, combined a static type of plastic Mediterranean architecture with a dynamically expressive type of Steyer architecture.
  • The wall and ceiling murals preserved in the castle are the cultural heritage of Slovenia. Of particular importance are the two murals in the large, festive hall. These are the only works preserved in Slovenia by Eustachius Gabriel, a German fresco painter of the Baroque period. Also in the chapel at the castle there are completely preserved frescoes, painted by Anton Cebej, one of the most important Slovenian Baroque artists.
  • Baroque paintings were also found in several rooms surrounding the festive hall, but they are mostly covered in whitewashing.
  • In 1990, the estate was declared a cultural monument of Slovenia because of its many wall and ceiling paintings, as well as its geographical location.
  • The farmstead consists of two floors, only a small part of the building has a basement. Ventilated attic is currently empty.
  • The estate also includes a tree-lined avenue, a park, a garden and two buildings located on the western edge of the park. One of these buildings was erected in 1844 - 1860 gg. Baron Franco Xaver Lazarini (Franc Xaver Lazarini) for the needs of the regional district council and the court. The second building is the building of the former farm - a storage room with a glacier, which is one of the oldest buildings in Smleadnik.
  • The total land area of the estate is 31,091 m2, and a living area of about 3,872 m2.
  • In accordance with the guidelines for heritage protection, the estate offers the possibility of converting to commercial real estate: a hotel, a casino, a business center with options such as seminars or conferences. The new golf club "Diners Club Ljubljana" is located in the immediate vicinity of the estate, which can greatly enrich the use of the estate.

REPAIR :

  • The main building of the manor was built in the first half of the 17th century, and the side wings were attached to it in the second half of the 18th century.
  • Restoration and restoration work is carried out in the manor for many years. By the end of 2009, most of the restoration work in the festive hall was completed.
  • Also in 2009, a report was prepared on the preservation of the estate Smleadnik, as required by the Law on the Protection of Cultural Heritage, which is a prerequisite for any repairs.
  • According to the directives from the report, the exterior of the manor should be kept "as is", however the interior can be subjected to free renovation and reconstruction, except for the central part of the house (Kinght Hall).

INFRASTRUCTURE : The farmstead is located near Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, 10 minutes drive from the Ljubljana-Kranj hub highway and 15 minutes from the central airport of Slovenia, Ljubljana-Brnik airport.
