Luxury Villa located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Appian way – Pintxos Cecilia Metella and only 7 km from the Colosseum. Despite the proximity to the center of Rome, the Villa is surrounded by the archaeological Park of Appia Antica.
The Villa was built by the famous Roman architect Busiri wichi, commissioned by producer Carlo Ponti and his wife Sophia Loren.
Only movie stars and some members of the Roman aristocracy could afford a Villa in the archaeological Park. This is the case of Carlo Ponti, husband of Sophia Loren, whose mansion in the midst of old pine trees and ancient stones and is now on sale.
But the most interesting is the main Villa, 680 sq. m, distributed on two floors. On the ground floor the main entrance, decorated with a Roman arch and ancient Roman floor mosaic in a flower pattern. Another entrance leads to the main hall consisting of three rooms of different sizes, one of which is the Roman room, are Roman tuff and floors decorated with mosaic pattern of the head of the Gorgon Medusa. From this room, associated with the passage of the kitchen, accessed via ancient Roman stairs to the upper balconies, lined with black and white mosaics.
Via the main staircase and the Elevator, we go up to the first floor there is a library and a sleeping area consisting of 4 bedrooms, each with private bath. The main bedroom has exit to the terrace with panoramic views of the Park. There is also a fully glazed winter garden in the style of the 50s, the pool and garden, 2000 sq. m, which surrounded the mansion.
