Campbell Phillpot, at a time when the British began to consider the Canary Islands, especially Tenerife, as an ideal place to relax in the winter. The unique climate began to attract new immigrants. The origin of the first owner is reflected in the style of this building. It was built according to the canons of the English colonial style, which was to be in harmony with the surrounding landscape. When Campbell died, the house passed into the hands of George Marriot, the husband of Beatrice who was a relative of the first owner. Later the house was acquired by the Spaniard Felipe Machado. His descendants lived here for many years and kept it in excellent condition. The exquisite taste of the English gardener, Mr. Dunn, who worked for the British high society, gave the gardens splendor and charm. He reached an elegant combination of plants and flowers collected from all parts of the world. The living room is surrounded by tall windows that create warmth, cosiness and style for the whole house. In the twenties of the last century, the owners of Mr. Felipe hired a London designer to make a magnificent curb on the ceiling. The main door is fine handmade. The elegant dining room looks out on to the north. There are also large windows and a fireplace. Some bathrooms have original English baths and taps. Ideal for a hotel, club or a closed society.
